Dr. Emilio José Juárez-Pérez has been awarded the “Outstanding Award for the PhD in Chemistry” from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for the period 2008/2009 assessing the quality and quantity of publications and conference contributions based on original results of the thesis. He performed his PhD thesis entitled “Metalodendrímeros y materiales nanoestructurados que incorporan clústeres de boro” at the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) under the supervision of Dr. Rosario Núñez. As a result of this thesis, 11 manuscripts have been published in high impact factor journals: Chem. Eur. J.; Macromolecules, Langmuir, Inorg. Chem., among others; as well as national (4) and international (12) conferences. Besides, it is important to note the recent publication of a Chem. Soc. Rev. Dr. Emilio J. Juárez-Pérez obtained the BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Granada in 2004. After that, he moved to Prof. Teixidor’s Group in the ICMAB (CSIC, Barcelona). In 2009, he received his PhD from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Then, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the INCAR (CSIC, Oviedo) with Dr Ana Arenillas and Dr J. Ángel Menéndez in carbon gel synthesis. His research interests include experimental and computational studies of molecular materials and their non-covalent interactions.
